Overview

Join the Pharmacy Technician team at CVS Health and help deliver exceptional service across our nationwide stores. Your role will support pharmacists to accurately and safely fill prescriptions, provide medication counseling, and maintain a clean, organized pharmacy environment.

Responsibilities
  • Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at each workstation to ensure accurate and timely prescription fulfillment.
  • Assist the pharmacy team through consistent application of SOPs and best practices while communicating effectively with patients and colleagues.
  • Complete basic inventory activities, including putting away medication deliveries, performing cycle counts, and maintaining accurate stock records.
  • Support immunization services where permitted, including preparing and administering vaccines, educating patients, and monitoring for adverse reactions.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic, traveling to participating stores as needed to meet business scheduling requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS policies related to patient safety, controlled substance dispensing, privacy, and security.
Qualifications
  • State board licensure or credentialing as required by local pharmacy regulations (minimum age 16 and high school diploma or equivalent unless otherwise specified).
  • National Pharmacy Technician certification (e.g., PTC-CP) preferred but not mandatory for all states.
  • Understanding of pharmacy medication management, inventory disposition, and pharmacy technology systems.
  • Hands‑on ability to complete a rigorous training program and meet all licensing requirements within designated time frames.
Preferred Experience
  • 1–3 years experience as a Pharmacy Technician or similar customer–service role.
  • Experience in a retail, medical, or community pharmacy setting.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, nights, weekends, and to travel between stores in the market as business requires.
