The Social Work Department is proud to build on the longstanding success of our diverse and thriving Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program, which has consistently prepared students to serve and advocate for individuals, families, and communities across a wide range of practice settings. Our BSW program has been recognized for its strong community partnerships, commitment to equity and inclusion, and focus on real-world, hands‑on learning experiences.

In Fall 2024, the department launched its new Master of Social Work (MSW) program, expanding opportunities for advanced trauma-informed professional training and leadership development. The MSW program is designed to prepare graduates for specialized practice, leadership roles, and impactful clinical work, while continuing to emphasize our department's core values of social justice, cultural humility, and ethical practice. With the addition of the MSW program, the department remains deeply committed to supporting a diverse student body and meeting the evolving needs of the communities we serve.

Position

Profile

The Department of Social Work is seeking a dedicated and experienced clinical faculty member to join our team and support both our well-established BSW program and our recently launched MSW program. The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical expertise, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to preparing students for effective practice across diverse populations and settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching clinical practice courses across the curriculum, day and evenings, at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Supervising student field placements and providing clinical mentorship.
  • Advising and supporting student professional development.
  • Engaging in curriculum development and program assessment.
  • Participating in department, university, and community service.
Applicant Evaluative Criteria
  • Education: All applicants must possess a Ph.D., Doctorate of Social Work (DSW) or closely related field.
  • Experience and Training: Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program. A minimum of five (5) years of post-master's direct clinical social work experience. Demonstrated experience teaching clinical social work courses at the graduate level.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants with the following:
    Doctorate in Social Work (PhD, DSW, or equivalent), experience in curriculum development, accreditation, and program assessment, experience supervising field placements or clinical supervision of students, experience working with community partnerships.
