Level: Community College Professional 21, 12‑month, tenure track position
Plans, manages, and coordinates the evaluation and implementation of the technology infrastructure and campus IT operations for CT State Community College. Provides campus IT operations through regular site visits, direct engagement with campus IT teams, and ongoing assessment of infrastructure needs. Leads collaboration with customers, management, IT colleagues, vendors, and consultants to define and uphold service levels.
Job Duties- Lead the development and implementation of methodologies and practices that ensure a stable production environment, defined by high system availability, minimal downtime, robust disaster recovery protocols, and proactive system monitoring.
- Lead, develop, create, and implement application systems and network systems, ensuring they are developed, maintained, and augmented using established methodologies and practices, with support from staff and direct reports.
- Work with campus technical and functional staff to encourage business process reengineering associated with administrative system development.
- Lead the implementation of administrative software systems related to enterprise applications, such as software deployment and patching.
- Lead efforts to integrate activities with other IT units to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts.
- Provide sufficient and timely support to new systems development and implementation, working closely with campus‑based counterparts/liaisons.
- Recommend software upgrades or add‑ons to support and enhance software systems, in collaboration with college staff.
- Develop and maintain long‑term plans for administrative computing enhancements, upgrades, and future development.
- Lead overall efforts in the design and implementation of new network systems and the successful transition to those systems.
- Foster and maintain good relationships with customers and IT colleagues to meet expected customer service levels.
- Prepare and administer Administrative Technology Services budget.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, together with four (4) or more years of professional level experience managing in an Information Systems department and two (2) or more years of experience in the supervision of others.
- Demonstrated ability to direct the work of professional and technical staff in designing, developing, installing, operating, and maintaining complex administrative software systems.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans for long‑term administrative computing needs.
- Proven ability to effectively work with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students.
- Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills and strong IT literacy skills (e.g., Microsoft Office suite).
- CompTIA Security+ certification.
- Experience working within a large, multi‑campus college or university system.
Minimum salary range: $95,698–$102,108 approximate annual. Salary will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications such as education and job‑related experience, and internal equity.
