IT Support, Desktop Support
We are seeking a highly motivated Desktop Support Specialist with hands‑on experience in hardware troubleshooting, workstation setup, and imaging computers. This role is critical to ensuring smooth IT operations and delivering exceptional customer service across our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Hardware Support
- Diagnose, repair, and replace hardware components on desktops, laptops, and peripherals (monitors, keyboards, printers).
- Perform preventive maintenance and ensure all devices meet performance standards.
- Imaging & Deployment
- Create and deploy standard Windows images using tools such as SCCM
, Intune
, or similar imaging software. - Configure and install operating systems, drivers, and required applications for new and refreshed devices.

- Workstation Setup
- Set up and configure workstations for new hires and existing employees, including hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Ensure proper cable management and connectivity for phones, printers, and other peripherals.
- End‑User Support
- Provide deskside and remote support for Windows 10/11 environments, troubleshooting OS issues, application errors, and connectivity problems.
- Assist with printer configuration, network mapping, and peripheral troubleshooting.
- Account & Access Management
- Support onboarding/offboarding processes by provisioning/deprovisioning accounts in Active Directory and Office 365
. - Manage user permissions and troubleshoot login/access issues.
- Support onboarding/offboarding processes by provisioning/deprovisioning accounts in Active Directory and Office 365
- Documentation & Ticketing
- Log all incidents and requests in the ITSM system (Service Now, Fresh service, etc.) and maintain accurate records.
- Create and update knowledge base articles for common issues and procedures.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience
- 2+ years providing hands‑on hardware support in a Windows environment.
- 2+ years imaging computers and deploying operating systems.
- 2+ years setting up and configuring workstations for end‑users.
- Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS (Windows 10/11),
Active Directory
, and Office 365
. - Familiarity with imaging tools (
SCCM
, Intune
) and remote support tools. - Basic understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS (Windows 10/11),
- Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation practices.
- CompTIA A+ or Microsoft certifications
- Experience with IT asset management and inventory tracking.
- Familiarity with AV equipment setup and troubleshooting.
This is a contract position based out of New Britain, CT.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 – $22.00/hr.
