The Hospital of Central Connecticut (THOCC)
A 414‑bed, 32‑bed acute‑care community teaching hospital with campuses in New Britain and Southington. Affiliated with the University of Connecticut School Of Medicine, THOCC provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery and a wide variety of specialties.
Hand Center, HOCC
In collaboration with the Hand Center Surgical Staff, this role provides skilled health care to patients in a hospital setting, assisting patients with upper extremity, wrist and hand symptoms or diagnoses. Responsibilities include evaluation, treatment and coordination of care.
- Provides direct care through consultations, follow‑ups and post‑operative visits including assessment, workups, triage, and other patient care activities.
- Obtains and documents health history, performs and documents physical exam, and orders and interprets diagnostic tests.
- Provides counseling to patients regarding diagnosis and expected course of treatment.
- Collects, organizes, records, and discusses data as appropriate and uses sound clinical judgment based in best practice standards and evidence‑based medicine.
- Prescribes pharmaceuticals according to patient needs and conducts appropriate patient follow‑up & outreach.
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00‑4:30 * (no holidays, no weekends, with exception of call coverage)

- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Master’s program.
- Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut.
- Certification, or eligible to be certified, as National Board Certified Ambulatory Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
- 2 years working as an Advanced Practitioner with Hand and Wrist.
- Bilingual preferred, but not required.
