Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Unit Specialist for the Division of Life Sciences department within the School of Arts and Sciences.
- Monitors, verifies, and reconciles expenditures of budgeted funds, prepares financial statements reflecting status of programs and activities.
- Analyzes financial data and prepares financial documents and reports for internal and external purposes.
- Ensures compliance with University and sponsoring agency policies and procedures.
- Creates and maintains database to capture employee and historical data.
- Provides assistance in the day-to-day operations and development of DLS policies and procedures.
- Performs special tasks and projects for management as assigned.
- Acts as a liaison to ensure the integration of DLS business activities across departments and within University structure.
- Works under general supervision, within established parameters, with few direct instructions. Carries out routine and non-routine tasks with occasional review of work outputs by supervisor.
- Performs professional work requiring knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting principles and practices (GAAP), and a good understanding and application of concepts, theories, principles, practices, terminology, and applied bases of accounting.
