About Our ProgramSaint Peter's is a leading women's health destination in central New Jersey, providing comprehensive reproductive care to women of all ages-from adolescents through post-menopausal years. Our high-volume program serves over 15,000 women annually from across the tri-state region and delivers more than 5,000 babies each year, making us the busiest birthing facility in central New Jersey.
Position OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated OB/GYN Hospitalist Laborist to join our dynamic inpatient team. This is a hospital-based position focused exclusively on labor and delivery, acute gynecologic care, and emergency obstetric management.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 24/7 obstetric hospitalist coverage for labor and delivery unit
- Manage acute antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum complications
- Perform cesarean sections, operative vaginal deliveries, and obstetric procedures
- Collaborative management of vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) trials
- Respond to obstetric and gynecologic emergencies from the ED
- Provide urgent gynecologic consultations for inpatient services and unassigned patients
- Coverage includes L&D, PET (pre‑eclampsia), acute gynecology, and OB/GYN ED emergencies
- Direct supervision and teaching of OB/GYN residents and medical students
- Collaborate with private attending physicians and multidisciplinary care teams
Schedule:
44-48 hours per week with flexible 10‑hour and 12‑hour shift options. Preferred coverage:
Night shifts, weekends, and day shift mix to support 24/7 hospitalist model. New graduates welcome – excellent mentorship and support for early‑career physicians.

- A Medical degree and the successful completion of a ACGME or AOA residency in OB/GYN
- MD or DO licensed in the State of New Jersey
- Board‑Certified or eligible in OB/GYN
- CDS and DEA license
- Must qualify for Saint Peter's University Hospital Liability insurance
