RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a full‑time Stroke Neurologist to join our Comprehensive Stroke Center based at RWJUH in New Brunswick, NJ. This opportunity offers a unique chance to be part of a renowned neuroscience unit while contributing to advanced stroke care, reporting to the Director of Stroke Program and the Chief of the Division of Stroke and Neurocritical Care.
Key Responsibilities- Stroke Faculty Leadership:
Serve as a stroke faculty physician for the Comprehensive Stroke Center and provide expert medical support to the medical staff, administration, and other professionals. - Neuroscience Unit Care:
Act as stroke attending for the Neuroscience Unit on Tower 7 at RWJUH, offering high‑quality patient care and leadership. - Education and Training:
Provide stroke education and deliver lectures to medical staff, health professionals, staff, and patients. - TPA Treatment Program Management:
Coordinate and administer the Tissue Plasminogen Activator (TPA) treatment program, working closely with endovascular neurosurgeons, interventional neurologists, and neuroradiologists to optimize stroke interventions. - Clinical Leadership and Operations:
Provide guidance on medical and clinical operations, including policy development, professional education, and the evaluation of emerging stroke treatment technologies. - Service Management:
Oversight of medical management of stroke programs, ensuring clinical standards are met, and providing expertise in goal development, budgeting, and operational oversight. - Performance and Innovation:
Attend performance improvement and steering committee meetings and contribute to the procurement of state‑of‑the‑art technologies. - Teaching and Mentoring:
Participate in the teaching mission of RWJMS, providing mentorship to fellows, residents, and students in both clinical and didactic settings. - Community Engagement:
Contribute to the department’s community service responsibilities, including providing care for underserved populations and advising community groups on cerebrovascular disorders. - Administrative Responsibilities:
Serve on relevant departmental and institutional committees as needed, supporting the Department of Neurology’s operational and academic activities. - Collaborative Research:
Partner with faculty neurointensivists on stroke‑related patient care, teaching, and clinical research projects. - Outpatient Stroke Clinic:
Provide outpatient stroke clinic services, as scheduled in consultation with the Stroke Division Chief, to address the growing need for vascular neurology outpatient care. - Telemedicine Participation:
Participate in the stroke telemedicine program upon its launch, enhancing RWJUH’s capacity for remote stroke care.
- Board certification in Stroke Neurology.
- Eligibility for medical licensure in New Jersey.
- Fellowship training and board certification in Vascular Neurology is highly desirable.
- Expertise in advanced stroke care, including intravenous TPA treatment and mechanical thrombectomy, preferred.
- Strong commitment to education, clinical excellence, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

The anticipated salary range for this position if hired to work is $275,000 to $470,000 per year. The compensation offered will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s educational background, skills, and professional experience.
