Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a per diem Physician Specialist for the department of Medicine at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. In this position, the per diem Physician Specialist–Hospitalist will manage primarily patients admitted to the hospitalist medicine service with close collaboration with consultants and subspecialists who practice ough the well‑established multidisciplinary team the overall goal is to have close collaboration with the emergency room physicians, obstetrics unit physicians, and intensive care unit physicians for patients who require admission to the hospitalist service for acute inpatient level of care on a medical‑surgical and intermediate care unit.
The Physician Specialist–Hospitalist will engage in inpatient care, assist with transitions of care back to the ambulatory setting, and work closely with the surgical and medical oncologic support staff, including advanced practice providers.
- The per diem Physician Specialist–Hospitalist manages patients on the hospitalist medicine service.
- Collaborates with consultants and subspecialists at RWJUH.
- Focuses on teamwork with emergency room, obstetrics, and intensive care unit physicians.
- Cares for patients requiring acute inpatient level on medical‑surgical and intermediate care units.
- Involved in inpatient care and transitions back to ambulatory settings.
- Works closely with surgical and medical oncology support staff, including advanced practice providers.
- Supports the team‑based approach, inclusive of communication with case managers, social workers, and bed managers.
Minimum Salary: 64,100
Mid Range Salary: 224,985
Maximum Salary: 385,870
