Position Overview
The Rutgers Center for Cognitive Science (RuCCS) in the School of Arts and Sciences at Rutgers University‑New Brunswick invites applications for a Non‑Tenure Track Assistant Teaching Professor position starting September 1, 2026. This is a renewable academic year appointment with a teaching load of six courses per year (three per semester). The position is located in the Psychology Building Annex, Busch Campus, Piscataway, NJ 08854.

ResponsibilitiesAs an Assistant Teaching Professor, the successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Cognitive Science and collaborate with faculty from diverse disciplines including Anthropology, Computer Science, Linguistics, Neuroscience, Philosophy, and Psychology. The role involves curriculum development, shaping the undergraduate experience, and contributing to the interdisciplinary nature at RuCCS.
QualificationsMinimum
Education and Experience:
Candidates must have a PhD in Cognitive Science or a related field and demonstrate a strong record of excellence in undergraduate teaching and curriculum development.

The academic year salary for an assistant professor will not be less than $82,110, based on the most recent collective bargaining agreement between the faculty union (AAUP‑AFT) and Rutgers University.
