The Department of Anthropology, School of Arts and Sciences, is seeking a part-time instructor for the Spring 2026 semester to teach a 200-level course:
Anthropology of the Middle East.
The successful candidate will cover the full range of duties associated with teaching, including but not limited to preparing course material, creating and posting a course syllabus, presenting material during the assigned course times, holding office hours, responding to student e-mails, conducting and grading assessments through assignments and exams, and submitting final grades. Course appointments may require instruction during the day, in the evenings, on weekends, off-campus, online, hybrid, remotely, or any combination based on the academic needs of the department.
Teaching
Schedule:
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 2:00–3:30 PM (time is fixed).
- MA or ABD/PhD in Anthropology or a closely related field; prior teaching experience preferred.
- All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of all pre‑employment screenings.
Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Additional infection control and safety policies may apply. Prospective employees should speak with their hiring manager to determine which policies apply to the role.
