Salary Details
Salary Details The academic year salary for an Assistant Professor will not be less than $82,110, based on the most recent collective bargaining agreement between the faculty union (AAUP-AFT) and Rutgers University

Posting Summary The Political Science Department at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in American politics with a focus on political economy. We are open to a wide range of methodological approaches and also welcome scholars whose work crosses subfields in the discipline, including but not limited to Race and Ethnic Politics, Women and Politics, Public Law, and Political Theory.
The position will begin Sept 1, 2027, subject to availability of funding. A Ph.D. in Political Science or a related field is required by Sept 1, 2027. The selected candidate will be expected to conduct innovative research in American political economy and teach undergraduate and graduate courses consistent with their expertise, such as American political economy, political institutions, politics and markets, class and race inequality, and specific formal and informal political institutions, such as the presidency, Congress, courts, interest groups, or the media.
