Posting SummaryRutgers is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst I for the Institute, located in New Brunswick, NJ. The role is responsible for financial analysis, projects, and statistical studies, and for coordinating budgeting and monitoring of funds to implement program objectives.
Duties- Prepare budgets and forecasts for units within the Center based on performance, estimated revenue, expense reports, and past budget numbers.
- Support the Institution’s annual RBHS budget preparation.
- Produce financial analysis and consult with project PIs to monitor progress and adjust plans as needed for long‑term goals; includes monitoring sub‑awards.
- Review and approve departmental expenditures to ensure compliance with budget, allowability, sponsor policy, and Rutgers policy.
- Direct the preparation of special budget reports to interpret budget directives and establish policies for execution.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field and at least four years of progressively responsible fiscal experience.
- Excellent business acumen, accounting skills, detail orientation, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in advanced computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to utilize Rutgers resources effectively.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Financials.
- Strong experience managing a large portfolio of sponsored grants and contracts from various agencies.
- In-depth knowledge of research grant and contract budgeting and federal guidelines/regulations related to research and development.
