Manager of Clinical Nutrition - Full Time - New Brunswick, NJ

Opportunity to serve as Manager of Clinical Nutrition at RWJBarnabas Health, a leading academic health system in New Jersey. This full‑time role is based in the Children’s Specialized Hospital at 200 Somerset St., New Brunswick, NJ.

Pay Range: $100,619 – $142,124 per year. Salary depends on experience, education and professional credentials.

Job Overview

The Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for the clinical nutrition program across all settings—CSH, inpatient rehabilitation, long‑term care units, and outpatient services. This role leads a team of registered dietitians and works closely with medical, nursing, therapy, and food services departments to deliver evidence‑based, family‑centered nutrition care.

Qualifications (Required)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited college or university
  • Registered Dietician with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Certification from the American Heart Association in Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Five years of clinical nutrition experience, including at least two years in pediatrics and management of diabetes
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Capacity for concentration and customer sensitivity required for assessment, planning, and implementation of clinical and departmental responsibilities
Preferred
  • Experience caring for children with medical complexity
  • Supervisory experience
  • Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) certification
Certifications And Licenses Required
  • Registered Dietician with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
  • American Heart Association certification in Nutrition and Dietetics
Scheduling Requirements

Full‑time, 40 hours per week.

Essential Functions
  • Plan, organize, direct and supervise clinical nutrition activities
  • Develop and administer department budgets according to hospital guidelines
  • Ensure adequate staffing, space, equipment and resources for service delivery
  • Oversee excellence of evaluations, treatment recommendations and discharge planning
  • Hire, evaluate, and orient staff in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Maintain and update job descriptions
  • Meet clinical staff deadlines and coordinate performance improvement projects
  • Develop, revise and implement department policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements
  • Promote a culture of knowledge, innovation and continuous improvement
  • Support professional growth and provide staff opportunities for involvement in department direction
  • Ensure culturally and religiously appropriate care whenever possible
  • Collaborate with the broader health care team on nutrition care principles
  • Coordinate affiliation with dietetic internship programs
  • Manage a clinical caseload as needed
