Job Overview

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Lung and Prostate Screening Program Specialist to support Plum St. Imaging in New Brunswick. This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely, accurate, and coordinated screening services for lung and prostate patients. The Specialist provides comprehensive clerical and administrative support throughout the screening workflow, ensuring exceptional service delivery and seamless communication with patients, providers, and internal departments.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to supporting patient-centered care.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to support patient and provider communication
  • Ability to learn and navigate electronic health record systems, including EPIC
  • Strong attention to detail when managing reports, letters, follow‑up tracking, and documentation
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a multidisciplinary team environment

Preferred:

  • Previous medical office or healthcare clerical experience
  • Experience working in a medical imaging, screening, or diagnostic testing environment
  • Familiarity with radiology workflows, report management, and scheduling processes
  • Knowledge of insurance, billing, or referral‑related work queues
Scheduling Requirements
  • Working Shift: Monday – Friday
  • Day Shift
  • Full‑Time, 40 Hours Per Week
Essential Functions
  • Assists with all clerical and administrative aspects of the lung and prostate screening workflow
  • Supports written and verbal communication with patients, providers, and internal teams
  • Assists with patient letter mailing, follow‑up communication, and documentation
  • Ensures all screening exams are resulted timely and appropriately followed up when needed
  • Ensures STAT and priority reports are transcribed and released in a timely manner
  • Assists with tracking and processing required report addendums
  • Performs importing of outside imaging and coordinates to ensure timely receipt of all studies
  • Manages the imaging schedule to ensure outside films are received prior to result release
  • Mails and faxes all reports, letters, and documentation to referring providers and patients
  • Provides EPIC workflow support, including navigation, documentation, and work queue engagement
  • Tracks patients who are due or past due for follow‑up and proactively coordinates with scheduling
  • Supports workflow by monitoring and completing tasks related to reports, billing, scheduling, and related work queues
