Research Project Assistant
This position is located at the Center for Climate, Health and Healthcare (CCHH) at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey and reports directly to the Center's Principal Investigator and faculty/department administrators.

The Research Project Assistant will support the Center’s research proposals, projects, and daily administrative operations.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to support research projects and grant proposals.
- Provide assistance with required regulatory documentation (e.g., Institutional Review Board, Data Use Agreements).
- Support the creation of code lists and data tables and conduct data analyses as directed by Center faculty and staff.
- Assist with ongoing project support under the guidance of the faculty PI or project manager, including scheduling, minutes, reporting to funders, procurement materials, and engagement with collaborators.
- Assist with grant submissions, protocol development, manuscript drafting, formatting, spelling, grammar, and creation of figures and tables.
- Provide general administrative support to CCHH faculty, Center leadership, and Center operations.
- Understand and adhere to Rutgers’ compliance standards (RBHS Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct, Conflict of Interest Policy, relevant data use agreements).
- Keep abreast of federal, state, and Rutgers regulations, laws, and policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or a related field plus relevant experience (preferably research).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong work ethic and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate and work well in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
- Commitment to the highest standards of research ethics.
- Good knowledge of SAS.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for understanding data and programming requirements, documenting analytic work, consulting with colleagues and leadership, and reporting results.
- Prior research experience.
- Basic statistical knowledge.
- Experience with basic data analyses.
- Proficiency in SAS.
- SAS Base/Advanced programming training or certification.
- Knowledge of healthcare data.

This full‑time position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement in accordance with Rutgers Policy 60.3.22. Flexible work arrangements are subject to change or discontinuation and contingent on approval in the Flex Work@RU Application System.
Immunization RequirementsUnder Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy, employees may be required to provide proof of vaccination against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season unless an exemption is granted. Failure to provide proof may result in rescission of the offer or disciplinary action.
