Posting Summary

The Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy is recognized on all levels, local, state, national, and international, as providing one of the most challenging, dynamic, and satisfying programs of study leading to the Doctor of Pharmacy degree. In concert with supportive faculty and staff, students at the School build a foundation for learning that continues long after graduation.

The mission of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration is to guide and develop the next generation of pharmacists in the practice of patient‑centered, population‑based pharmaceutical care in a multitude of settings. The Department is committed to the ethical and professional growth of pharmacy students and strives to graduate lifelong learners with the skills to lead and adapt in a dynamic healthcare system.

This mission supports the overall mission of the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy in four critical areas: teaching, practice, scholarship, and service.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and must have completed at least two years of residency training or equivalent experience. Applicants must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of New Jersey. Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BCPS), or other relevant board certification, is expected within two years of hire.

Pre‑employment Screenings

All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of all pre‑employment screenings.

Immunization Requirements

Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Additional infection control and safety policies may apply. Prospective employees should speak with their hiring manager to determine which policies apply to the role or position for which they are applying.

Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain a medical or religious exemption from the University will result in rescission of a candidate's offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
