Description:
The Senior Employee and Labor Relations Leader manages Employee and Labor Relations cases for designated workforce groups and provides expert support for ER/LR Managers with specific activities. This role is pivotal in ensuring the fair resolution of workforce challenges and adherence to employment policies, through guidance, coaching, and training of management and staff. The leader partners on collective bargaining, grievance administration in unionized environments, and plays a crucial stewardship role in safeguarding company interests through careful escalation and resolution of matters.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing Employee and Labor Relations cases, including policy interpretation, investigation of concerns, and evaluation of findings.
- Advising management on disciplinary procedures, grievances, and coaching for improvement.
- Delivering training on ER/LR topics to managers and employees.
- Supporting collective bargaining negotiations and administration in union environments.
- Managing non-complex grievances and discipline cases.
- Responding to ER/LR requests, executing key tasks per defined guidelines.
- Developing and executing investigation plans.
- Identifying policy or practice violations and recommending corrective actions.
- Assisting with performance improvement plans and corrective action steps.
- Supporting HR initiatives like acquisitions, divestitures, and job eliminations.
- Handling legal queries, including gathering information for claims, attorney letters, and lawsuits.
- Providing insights on trends and opportunities for HR and ER/LR process improvements.
- Delivering workplace climate assessments and remediation plans.
- Ensuring compliance with documentation and retention standards.
- Participating in reduction in force (RIF) and reorganization projects.
- Preparing reports and written communications relevant to ER/LR cases.
- Supporting organized labor sites as needed with contract administration and grievances.
Required
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 6 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years specializing in Employee or Labor Relations.
- Demonstrated expertise in researching, investigating, and resolving employee misconduct and performance issues.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. employment law and regulatory requirements.
- Outstanding customer orientation and service skills.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and communication abilities.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
- Effective time management, ability to prioritize and resolve cases within defined periods.
- Experience with HRIS systems, like Workday or Service Now (Can be others)
