Licensed Practical Nurse – Part Time (Days), Adult Diagnostic Treatment Center, Avenel, NJ
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, operating as University Correctional Health Care (UCHC), is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct patient care in a correctional setting. The primary purpose of the position is to administer total patient care based on the individualized needs of assigned patients and families, in accordance with professional nursing standards and under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities- Participate in data collection related to patients’ status and needs.
- Provide input to the Registered Nurse for incorporation into the plan of care.
- Provide direct patient care within scope of practice to ensure implementation of the plan of care.
- Inform and instruct patients and significant others on patients’ health/illness state and plan of care.
- Assist patients and significant others in preparation for discharge and health maintenance at home.
- Document all aspects of patient care.
- Valid registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
- CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license with own vehicle or alternative means of transportation.
- Experience in an acute hospital setting for at least six (6) months (preferred).
- Approval by the Department of Corrections and adherence to all DOC requirements.

- Salary range: $32.52 – $34.01 per hour.
