Responsibilities- Directly and indirectly supervise staff of Registered Nurses, Nursing Assistants, Maternity or Patient Care Techs, Nursing Unit Secretaries
- Promote patient satisfaction and a positive work environment
- Conduct daily patient rounds on the assigned unit and lead Nursing Quality Improvement activities
- Assist the Nurse Manager in planning and implementing mechanisms to encourage growth and development of staff
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care activities considering growth and development factors appropriate to age in collaboration with the Nurse Manager
- Coordinate monthly staff meetings in collaboration with the nurse manager to encourage open communication of unit‑specific issues
- Work in collaboration with the nurse manager to complete and provide input for annual performance appraisals
- Conduct employee rounds; identify and communicate trends to the nurse manager, and implement actions to address identified trends
- Review employee satisfaction survey responses and provide input to the nurse manager in developing action plans
- Registered Nurse license in the State of New Jersey
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (required)
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a specialty (preferred)
- Supervisory experience desired (e.g., charge nurse, committee leadership)
- BLS Certification required
- National certification or nursing administrative certification within one year in a specialty specific to care provided
- PALS and ACLS as required by specialty
- ECG Course completed
- Critical Care Course within 6 months of hire
Salary Range: USD – per year. Additional incentives may include clinical certification pay and shift differentials.
