- Provide direct and indirect nursing care to meet physiological, psychosocial and emotional needs of residents, including adolescents (13-17), adults (18-64) and their families, within the correctional system framework.
- Perform assessments of residents in various settings (initial intake, health care unit, sick call, emergency housing areas, chronic care clinics, infirmary).
- Collaborate with a variety of health care professionals and security officers in a correctional environment.
- Identify resident-centered goals and nursing objectives; implement prescribed interventions and solutions.
- Plan nursing care by identifying residents' needs based on assessments; make timely referrals and initiate nursing care per institutional policies and procedures.
- As team leader or charge nurse, delegate duties to other health care team members based on their skills and experience and guide care provision.
- Minimum
Education and Experience:
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. - Certifications/Licenses: License to practice in the State of New Jersey; CPR Certification required;
Valid Driver's License required (must have own vehicle or alternative means to travel between sites). - Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) or its equivalent preferred; minimum of one (1) year of experience in a correctional setting preferred.
