RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Assistant Director of Patient Care for Post Coronary Care at the New Brunswick campus.
Post Coronary Care is a busy 34 bed unit Cardiac & Coronary patients specializing in telemetry and medical surgical cases.
Qualifications Required- BSN required
- At least 3 - 5 years of nursing experience required
- Experience in Med Surg and/or Telemetry required
- MSN highly preferred
- Previous experience as a nursing director is preferred
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
- Night Shift, 40 hours per week
- Hours:
7:00 pm - 7:30 am with an additional 8 hours of office time bi-weekly. - Full-Time
- On Call Leadership Coverage
- Managing a team of nurses and support staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating performance.
- Providing guidance and support to improve nursing practice and morale.
- Ensuring that necessary resources, such as equipment, supplies, and staffing levels, are available to provide safe and effective patient care.
- Manage department budgets, ensure cost-effective care delivery, and optimize the use of resources within the organization.
- Monitoring patient outcomes and implementing quality improvement initiatives to ensure high standards of care.
- Ensuring compliance with regulations and safety protocols.
- Creating and enforcing policies and procedures to ensure consistent and high-quality nursing care.
- Addressing concerns from patients, families, and staff, and resolving conflicts in a timely and professional manner.
- Encourage ongoing education and training for nursing staff to enhance skills and foster a culture of professional development.
- Contribute to long-term planning for the unit or facility, including the implementation of new technologies, processes, or services to improve patient care and operational efficiency.
- Provides leadership and direction in order to fulfill the goals and objectives of the unit/organization.
- Effectively communicates information to staff, utilizes resources and manages staff and services.
- Assists the Director with the daily operations of the unit and delegated responsibilities.
- Will be assigned 50 percent of patient care responsibilities.
- Collaboratively prepares and maintains staff schedule and payroll.
- Effectively collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and drives through-out staff accountability.
