RN - PICU

New Jersey

This is a 13-week contract position.

Day shift: 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30); every other weekend and holiday required.

The PICU Nurse will provide specialized care to critically ill pediatric patients in a high-acuity environment. The role requires comprehensive clinical skills, the capability to float to various units, and experience with advanced pediatric procedures.

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU.
• Monitor and assess patients' conditions, including hemodynamic monitoring and EKG interpretation.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies, including vasopressors and insulin therapy.
• Assist with procedures such as placing/managing NG tubes and central lines.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide education and support to patients and families.

• Minimum of 2 years of PICU or Pediatric Step Down Unit experience.
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required; NIHSS preferred.
• Active NJ or Compact RN license required at time of submission.
• Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and ICP monitoring preferred.
• Familiarity with the EPIC charting system is advantageous.
