Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse (Travel Assignment)

New Brunswick, NJ

• Start Date: January 5, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day, 4x10-hour (11:00 – 21:30)
• On Call: 32 total hours per month (includes ~1 weekend/month, 24-hour call both Saturday and Sunday)
• Local Candidates: Accepted
• Schedule: No block scheduling

We are seeking experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurses for a travel assignment in New Brunswick, NJ. This role requires advanced surgical nursing skills, particularly in open heart procedures and TAVR cases. Nurses will float to the Main OR if no CVOR cases are scheduled.

• Minimum 3 years of CVOR nursing experience (first-time travelers considered; experience highly preferred).
• Active RN license in New Jersey (or compact license).
• Scrub experience for open CVOR cases and TAVR required.
• Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – required
  • CNOR – preferred

• Open heart adult surgery
• Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
• Valve surgeries (aortic, mitral, pulmonic)

• Knowledge of advanced cardiovascular devices and procedures, including:
  • Impella
  • Heart Mate
  • ECMO
  • Laser lead extractions
  • TAVR (also performed in Main OR)

• Hospital-provided scrubs.
• RNs expected to float to Main OR if no CVOR cases are scheduled.

• Work in a high-acuity cardiovascular surgical environment.
• Gain experience with advanced cardiac procedures and devices.
