Rehabilitation Counselor – New Brunswick, NJ
Shift: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (Must be flexible to work evenings & weekends as needed)

What You’ll DoThe Rehabilitation Counselor provides employment, habilitation, and community support services to people with disabilities. They aid consumers in working to their fullest potential, assist them to achieve their goals related to employment, enhance their skills, and prepare them for outside employment.
Key Responsibilities- Oversees and interacts with consumers throughout program hours; ensures a safe, clean environment of care that meets the standard of safety and cleanliness for staff and consumers.
- Manages a caseload of consumers; builds rapport with families or guardians; participates in interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Conducts intake interviews, orientations, and assessments; develops training that helps to develop skill level.
- Delivers services that achieve quality, utilization, outcome, and financial sustainability.
- Develops Individualized Employment Plans to enhance/remove vocational barriers.
- Provides rehabilitation skill training through interventions and educates through curriculum-based classes to increase consumer’s level of progression; skills training includes soft skills, health and wellness, workplace communication, and more.
- Creates required person-centered documentation and reports in accordance with state regulatory requirements.
- Tracks documentation and monitors goals within required time frames and in accordance with regulations and ENJ policies.
- Identifies, develops, and maintains a record of employer contacts and community resources.
- Promotes positive public relations and community inclusion.
- Provide participants support/transportation to networking sources to help gain further independence if needed.
- Achieves high level of consumer and customer satisfaction; maintains positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Complies with all licensing, regulatory, accreditation, and ENJ policies and procedures.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or rehabilitation-related field from an accredited college required. - Experience:
1 year of experience working with people with disabilities required. - Requirements:
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. - Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
