Delivery Driver,
The Prince George’s County Memorial Library System (PGCMLS) is seeking a full-time Driver.
Drivers are responsible for transporting and delivering books, library materials, interoffice mail, supplies, and equipment to 19 library locations throughout Prince George’s County and other facilities across the metropolitan area. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and be able to safely operate a box truck, cargo van, or other assigned vehicle for up to eight (8) hours per workday.
Essential Functions:- Drive library vehicles to deliver books, suppliesandmaterials.
- Loadandunload deliveries safely and efficiently.
- Ensure security of vehicle including contents andkeys.
- Perform routine vehicle checks and coordinate maintenance.
- Sort and distribute mailandmaterials post delivery.
- Maintain accurate daily records and follow all safety protocols.
- Collect deposits as needed.
- Assist with special project sand train new staff, as needed.
- Monday - Friday, from 8AM
-4:30PM
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two or more years of delivery or truck driving experience.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing, with five (5) or fewer points ondriving record.
- Knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulationsandlocal routes.
- Strong attention to detailandorganization.
- Basic technology skills (email, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace).
- Friendly attitudeandteam spirit.
Environmental Conditions:
- Able to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Operate vehicles up to eight (8) hours per day.
- Able to drive safely in all kinds of weather and traffic.
