Position Goal

Responsible for supporting the Superintendent’s Office, Board of Education, Communications Department, Choice Program, and Centralized Registration. Exercise independent judgment, discretion, and initiative in carrying out daily responsibilities. Maintain regular communication with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistency and alignment in district operations. Serve as a key point of contact, responding promptly and appropriately to inquiries and concerns related to incidents and events occurring within the district.

Minimum Requirements
  • Associate’s Degree or higher.
  • Five (5) years of executive/administrator support work experience.
  • Previous experience in a school environment is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with public speaking, community relations, and crisis management response preferred.
  • Proficient to intermediate in Microsoft Office, Google Applications, and student information systems.
  • Acceptable criminal background report and no entries on the child abuse registry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Respond to requests (telephone, email, visitors) for information/assistance, exercising independent judgment and tact.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, agencies, partners, and community members.
  • Serve as a public relations point of contact for the community and maintain relationships with media sources and reporters.
  • Assist with facilitating information during a crisis by communicating with police and first responder PIOs.
  • Provide support for the Board of Education and serve as a liaison between the Board and District Administration. Maintain, post, and publish meeting agenda and minutes through Board Docs. Coordinate and facilitate public comment and recognition at board meetings. Prepare briefs and deliver announcements at board meetings to recognize student and staff achievements.
  • Update and maintain the District Policy Manual.
  • Maintain budgets for the Superintendent’s Office, Communications Department, and Choice, including ordering supplies and coordinating travel reimbursements as needed.
  • Maintain the district calendar and track student hours.
  • Assist with drafting, editing, or composing correspondence and/or public statements for the Superintendent’s Office.
  • Coordinate special projects and activities for the District (e.g., retirement, “Of-the-Year” celebrations, combined boards of education, news conferences).
  • Maintain notary certification.
  • Maintain historical records and prepare files for archiving.
  • Disseminate information in a professional and timely manner.
  • Determine priorities, coordinate workload to meet schedules/deadlines – both short and long range.
  • Develop methods, forms, and procedures for the most effective performance of own duties and office operation.
  • Serve as the FOIA Officer for the district.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
