- Performance:
Execute engineering tasks in transportation and highway design, ensuring adherence to relevant design criteria, standards, and processes. - Knowledge:
Apply a strong understanding of transportation engineering principles, including roadway geometry, pavement design, traffic control, and stormwater management. - Design and Planning:
Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction, as well as construction cost estimates. - Collaboration with Project Teams:
Work closely with project teams, clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to deliver effective highway design solutions. - Project Coordination:
Ensure designs meet state and federal highway regulations, codes, and client specifications. - Problem Solving and Innovation:
Identify design issues and provide effective solutions throughout the design process. - Client Relationship:
Assist in building and maintaining relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and project success. - Career Growth:
Develop expertise in highway design and contribute to Century Engineering’s continued growth in the transportation sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field from an ABET‑accredited program.
- 2+ years of relevant highway design experience.
- Engineering Intern (EI) license required.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
- Familiarity with state and federal highway design regulations and guidelines.
- Proficiency with Micro Station, Open Roads Designer (ORD), 3D Modeling, etc.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with project delivery of State Agency Transportation Departments – Delaware preferred.
