Could you be the full-time onsite Procurement Project Manager in New Castle, DE, US we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your procurement and project management expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and results-driven teammates.
You'll ensure the success of procurement strategies and their alignment with project objectives, contributing to the overall quality, cost, and delivery performance. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Project Managers, Sub‑System Managers, Procurement Teams, Legal Department), coordinate sourcing activities, and ensure compliance with procurement processes and tools, and much more.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Define the Project Procurement strategy with the Procurement Organization based on the Product Procurement strategy and formalizing it into a Project Procurement Management Plan. You’ll specifically take care of defining and implementing the Project Procurement Strategy in full respect of Quality, Cost, Delivery (QCD) commitments, but also coordinating, consolidating, and securing sourcing activities, performance, and efficiency across the entire project.
  • Ensuring the Project Procurement strategy is shared, understood, and applied by procurement teams and Sub‑System Managers (SSMs).
  • Managing buyers working on the project to ensure proper contribution to project QCD (functional report).
  • Organizing Procurement launch meetings involving the Project Manager (PM), SSMs, and Procurement teams.
  • Maintaining a general vision of the project’s supplier progress, stakes, and difficulties, defining corrective measures, and ensuring their implementation.
  • Collaborating with the Legal Department to build and publish specific legal requirements for the project and ensuring their proper use and application.
All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Degree in purchasing, engineering, project management, or equivalent.
  • Experience or understanding of project management, procurement processes, or engineering scope.
  • Knowledge of Alstom Procurement processes is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel), SAP, or other ERP software.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills to synthesize large amounts of data.
  • Results‑oriented mindset with the ability to meet deadlines and deliver on objectives.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and manage cross‑functional teams.
  • Rigorous and structured approach to tasks and responsibilities.
Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life‑long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Work with cross‑functional procurement, engineering, and legal teams to define and implement effective strategies for project success.
  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues.
  • Progress towards leadership opportunities and enhanced expertise in procurement and project management.
  • Contribute to innovative projects.
  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries.
  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award‑winning learning.

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
