Your future roleWe’re looking for a full‑time onsite Procurement Project Manager in New Castle, DE, US. You will apply your procurement and project‑management expertise in a new, cutting‑edge field, working closely with project managers, sub‑system managers, procurement teams and the legal department to ensure successful procurement strategies aligned with project objectives.
Responsibilities- Define the project procurement strategy in collaboration with the procurement organization, formalise it into a Project Procurement Management Plan, and ensure alignment with quality, cost and delivery commitments.
- Communicate the project procurement strategy to procurement teams and sub‑system managers and ensure its implementation.
- Manage buyers working on the project to guarantee functional contributions to project QCD.
- Organise procurement launch meetings involving the project manager, sub‑system managers and procurement teams.
- Maintain a broad vision of supplier progress, issues and risks; define corrective measures and ensure their execution.
- Collaborate with the legal department to develop and publish specific legal requirements for the project and oversee their application.
- Degree in purchasing, engineering, project management or an equivalent field.
- Experience or understanding of project management, procurement processes or engineering scope.
- Knowledge of Alstom procurement processes is preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel), SAP or other ERP software.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills to synthesize large amounts of data.
- Results‑oriented mindset with a track record of meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work in a matrix environment and manage cross‑functional teams.
- A rigorous and structured approach to tasks and responsibilities.
- Work with cross‑functional procurement, engineering and legal teams to define and implement effective project strategies.
- Collaborate with transverse teams and supportive colleagues.
