Applications Scientist – Thermal Analysis; DSC)

HW Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Applications Scientist with hands-on Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) experience to support thermal analysis instrument testing and product development.

This position focuses on verification and validation (V&V), materials characterization, and analytical instrument performance testing.

• Perform DSC verification and validation (V&V) testing following established protocols
• Test thermal analysis instruments, accessories, cooling systems, and autosamplers
• Conduct sample preparation, calibration, and performance testing using reference materials
• Evaluate DSC results, thermal transitions, and instrument performance
• Test TRIOS software for instrument control, data collection, and analysis
• Identify, troubleshoot, and document instrument or software issues
• Prepare accurate test reports and maintain detailed laboratory records
• Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, and Product Development teams

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related field
• Hands-on DSC experience required, including calibration, sample preparation, and data interpretation
• Experience in thermal analysis, materials characterization, or analytical instrumentation preferred
• Familiarity with laboratory testing, verification and validation, and experimental procedures
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
• Ability to follow detailed testing protocols and work collaboratively
• Master's degree is a plus
