Introduction
Recruitment and referral incentives are being offered by the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services for clinical nursing positions. New employees to the State of Delaware are eligible for the following incentives:
- $10,000.00 recruitment incentive for Registered Nurses, Advanced Practice Nurses, Nurse Consultants, Nursing Supervisors, and Compliance Nurses
- $7,500.00 recruitment incentive for Licensed Practical Nurses
- $5,000.00 recruitment incentive for Certified Nursing Assistants
Referral bonuses of $1,000 are available to current DHSS employees who refer new hires in the above classifications. Incentives are paid in quarterly installments over the first year of employment and require a commitment to two consecutive years with DHSS.
RN Investigator
The RN Investigator conducts investigations of incidents that cause or could cause harm to patients at the Delaware Psychiatric Center (DPC). Responsibilities include reviewing incident reports and related video, interviewing witnesses and parties, performing on‑site inspections, developing timelines, writing investigative reports, presenting findings to the DPC Safety Panel, and ensuring completion of documentation. The role requires knowledge of federal and state regulations, accrediting body standards, DHSS/DSAMH/DPC policies, procedures, and proper patient care.
EssentialFunctions
- Provides or evaluates direct nursing care.
- Develops, implements and/or reviews nursing care plans.
- Provides health care instruction and guidance to individuals, families, community groups and nursing home facilities.
- Maintains an effective working relationship with other members of the treatment team.
- Prepares and submits records, reports, evaluations and forms.
- Participates in quality assurance activities and makes recommendations.
- Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license or a multi‑state compact license.
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing, or at least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse in Psychiatric Nursing.
- Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license or a multi‑state compact license.
- At least two years' experience as a Registered Nurse in Psychiatric Nursing, or a Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing and at least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse in Psychiatric Nursing, or a Master’s degree or higher in Nursing.
- Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license or a multi‑state compact license.
