LPN Surgeon's Office

Overview

Seeking aLicensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to oversee the colonoscopy process in our general surgery practice.

This is an office based role.

• Maintain colonoscopy referral pool
• Review patient medical histories and medication lists to identify risk factors
• Conduct pre-procedure patient assessments and interviews
• Provide detailed instructions regarding bowel preparation, medication management, and procedure expectations
• Coordinate scheduling of procedures with surgical team and facility staff
• Ensure all required diagnostic tests and clearances are completed and documented
• Complete pre-certification with insurance companies
• Follow up with patients regarding pathology results and additional care requirements
• Coordinate follow-up appointments and referrals as needed
• Maintain an organized log for patients needing repeat colonoscopies
• Work cooperatively with all team members to ensure efficient office operations

• Completion of an accredited practical nurse program and current Indiana licensure or awaiting Indiana State Board testing results for Indiana LPN licensure or reciprocity for Indiana licensure
• Knowledge of colonoscopy procedures and related care protocols
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Electronic medical record proficiency
• BLS Certification
