Burner/Torch Cutter

$25.00-$28.00 per hour

New Castle, PA

2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

• Cutting & Burning
  :
  Operate oxy‑acetylene torches and plasma cutters to precisely cut and shape steel products as required.
• Inspection & Preparation
  :
  Inspect raw materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and are ready for further processing.
• Lancing
  :
  Use high‑pressure air lances to clean slag, scale, and debris from steel surfaces, ensuring they are free from imperfections.
• Safety
  :
  Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety guidelines in a high‑risk environment.
• Maintenance & Equipment Care
  :
  Maintain and troubleshoot cutting and lancing tools and equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety.
• Collaboration
  :
  Work closely with team members, supervisors, and other departments to meet production goals and ensure smooth operations.
• Record Keeping
  :
  Maintain accurate records of materials used, equipment maintenance, and work completed.

• Experience
  :
  Minimum 1‑2 years of experience as a Burner, Lancer, or in a similar role within a manufacturing or steel mill environment.
• Proficient in operating oxy‑acetylene torches, plasma cutters, and high‑pressure air lances.
• Strong understanding of metal types, steel alloys, and cutting techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and equipment in a steel mill setting.
• Must be able to successfully complete all pre‑employment screenings.
• Physical Requirements
  :
  Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for long periods, and work in extreme temperatures and noisy environments.
