• Read and understand blueprints and sketches.
• Use various types of gear reductions and motor/reducer coupling alignments.
• Repair hydraulic equipment.
• Perform MIG, TIG, Stick (including stainless) and gas welding procedures.
• Operate mobile equipment.
• Perform crane maintenance and apply safe rigging methods.
• Work at heights.
• Adhere to company policies, plant safety regulations, and work rules.
• Work collaboratively with others.
• Meet attendance requirements.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

• Commitment to safety.
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
• Completion of EQS in‑house Apprentice Program or at least 2 years of mechanical maintenance in a heavy industrial facility (preferred).
• Previous maintenance experience in a steelmaking environment (preferred).
• Ability to pass written, blueprint, hydraulic, and welding aptitude tests.
• Driving is a function of this position; a valid driver’s license will be monitored for active status.

• Will pass all required tests.
