Job SummaryIn this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating large engine lathes to machine metal components according to specifications. Your work will be critical to maintaining our high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and product excellence throughout the production process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Read job order specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, tool holding instructions, feed rates, cutting speed, depth of cuts, and cutting tools.
- Position and secure tools in holders; lift and secure the workpiece in the holding device, machine table, chuck, centers, or fixture.
- Set specified rotation speed, feed rate, and depth of cut, and position the tool relative to the workpiece.
- Start the machine, turn hand wheels to feed the tool to the workpiece, and engage feed.
- Turn the valve handle to direct flow of coolant against tool and workpiece.
- Observe the cutting action of the machined workpiece to specifications.
- Scribe reference lines on the workpiece to lay out interrelated surfaces, lengths, and depths of cut.
- Compute unspecified dimensions and machine settings.
- Operate forklift when required.
- Full time, 40 hours per week, 3rd shift.
- Shift may initially train on 5 8's and move to 4 10's as training progresses.
- Overtime as needed when production demands require it to meet customer delivery expectations.
- Paid time off – 16 hours after 60 days, annual vacation accrual.

- One to three months of experience and/or training preferred.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Basic computer skills.
- Manufacturing experience preferred, but not required.
- Must be able to pass pre‑employment drug screen and physical exam.

Starting at $18.44 per hour based upon experience.
