This is a fully remote, Canada-based, opportunity with JAR Audio. We are looking for an experienced writer/producer to help us deliver a number of our creative branded podcast projects. The Producer will report to our Executive Producer and Chief Creative Officer.
This role is full-time, 100% remote.
WHO WE ARE:We produce original podcasts for brands to elevate dialogue and drive results. Our recent clients include Expedia, lululemon, Royal Bank Canada, American Express, IBM, and more.
We take an audience-first approach. We believe podcasts are a perfect medium for a brand to engage with a new or current audience. We collaborate with our clients to uncover who their podcast audience is, what they care about, and how a podcast can deliver value. We root our podcasts in this strategy to provide value.

WHOYOU ARE:
JAR Audio is looking for someone with 3+ years of experience in audio storytelling, writing for audio, podcasting and/or radio experience. They will be responsible for producing several (up to
4) shows with overlapping (staggered) podcast production schedules. You’re highly organized and a great team player. You’re someone who has experience with editing with words, music, sfx and ambient elements; as well as writing creative elements such as show scripts.
Based on our creative treatments, you will work with clients to develop and deliver episodes.
- Episode story development based on Creative Treatment outline
- Guest ideation and chasing
- Writing scripts (narration and question lines)
- Writing show descriptions
- Identifying, chasing, and booking guests
- Creative development of several ongoing podcast projects at once (staggered schedules)
- Working with various tools of the trade like Descript, Otter, Riverside, Squadcast, Zencastr, or other comparable tools.
- Identifying and managing stakeholder concerns
- Liaising with Project Leads, Client Success Lead, Audience Growth Specialist, and Executive Producer to help meet project milestones. (they are there to support you too!)
- Communicating any creative developments which affect schedule, communications, scope, and/or deliverables.
- Joining JAR weekly (internal team) editorial calls
- Joining client (larger project team) weekly check-in calls
- Attending project creative strategy sessions, kick-off meetings and retrospectives as needed.
- Ensuring high-quality creative standards and project goals are met in a fast-paced multi-stakeholder environment.
- Podcast experience is a must.
- Writing experience is a must.
- Experience in other forms of audio, film or media production, behind the scenes is helpful.
- Superb communication skills in verbal and written form; we like good grammar.
- Ability to lead creatively and attentively. We’re looking for someone with creative confidence and good listening skills
- Experience working with various clients: startups, enterprise, tech, finance, corporate, arts, etc.
- Love for creative brainstorming
- Good team player
- Familiarity with essential tech tools:
Slack, Google Drive, Basecamp, Zoom, etc. - Open to learning new tools
- A “big picture” approach – but with a healthy respect for the details
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working in a remote environment
- A sense of humour
- A passion for podcasts
