The School District of La Crosse is accepting applications for a Limited Term Contract 1.0 FTE Cross Categorical Special Education Teacher at Hintgen Elementary School for the remainder of the school year.
Position Responsibilities- Instruction of students with learning disabilities and emotional behavioral disabilities, including team teaching.
- Management of all aspects of student program: functional behavior assessment, behavior plans, academic assessments, writing and implementing integrated IEPs, effectively consulting with staff and parents.
- Working as part of the IEP team to appropriately place students and monitor their progress.
- Successful completion of a mandatory Job Specific Screen before employment.
- Wisconsin certification 1801 and/or 1802, 1811, or 1830. Multiple certifications preferred.
- Cross categorical teacher with experience in Trauma‑Informed Care practices and collaborative problem solving.
- Special education license and experience teaching with Autism and EBD programming.
- Special concentration in Learning Disabilities and/or Emotional Behavioral Disabilities.
- Experience and demonstrated skills in assessing, instructing, and programming for LD and EBD students.
- Experience working with a team of regular and special educators to meet student needs.
- Experience developing behavior intervention plans.
- Demonstrated skills in the use of assistive and adaptive technology to support student independence.
- Certification in Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention, CPR, and First Aid.
- Familiarity with Ross Greene and equitable approaches to ensure student needs are met.
