Overview
Adjunct Faculty, Learning Through Teaching. The Learning through Teaching program is a graduate level program for schools that wish an in-person learning environment within their own school setting. Consultants travel to participating schools to lead regular classes, centered around literacy teaching goals. Consultants are hired as adjunct faculty and act as the conduit between the school and the University of New Hampshire, ensuring that all students meet the requirements to receive approved graduate credits at the conclusion of the coursework.
Responsibilities- Create engaging content suitable for two credits of graduate work, aligned with the session theme.
- Work with teachers of diverse backgrounds and grade levels.
- Lead lessons and demonstrate strategies to participants.
- Conference with students individually and in groups.
- Promote individual student ideas and foster independence in the creation of lessons and writing units.
- Coordinate with other Learning through Teaching teachers and staff to ensure student safety and success.
- Education:
Master’s degree in education or English. - Experience:
Minimum of five years’ teaching in upper elementary (grades 4-6), middle school ELA, or high school English, plus experience teaching college-level courses or workshops.
- Valid teaching license required.
