The Equipment Crew members will work under the direction of the Summer Youth Music School (SYMS) Camp Director and the SYMS Equipment Crew Head to ensure the faculty, staff, and students have all necessary equipment for rehearsals, classes, and performances. Crew members will respond promptly to the Crew Head and report any concerns regarding faculty requests or interactions.
Because the Equipment Crew members will work near minors, successful candidates will be required to undergo a background security check and a training module on the protection of minors.
Duties/ResponsibilitiesMove musical instruments and equipment (100%).
- Follow directives and schedules set by the SYMS Equipment Crew Head and Camp Director to move instruments and equipment as needed for classes, rehearsals, and performances.
- Use best practices for the care and preservation of musical instruments and equipment.
Minimum Acceptable
Education & Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in music education or performance, or equivalent experience in a music production crew.
- Knowledge of and experience with the care, maintenance, and movement of sensitive musical instruments and electronic equipment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and respond to respectful requests and directions.
