REQ-Midwest Bus Sales Inc The Assistant Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of the service department, ensuring efficient and profitable repair services. Developing business by engaging with both internal and external customers to maintain adequate sales volume. Ensuring the department achieves a reasonable operating profit while maintaining high customer satisfaction standards. Controlling expenses to meet financial goals. Directing and supervising shop employees involved in body, paint, and mechanical repairs, ensuring repairs are completed on time, with high quality, and meeting productivity targets.

Managing the activities of service writers to maximize efficiency, revenue, and productivity. Ensuring compliance with all OSHA and EPA regulations. Maintain high standards in safety, quality, and customer service to support the overall success of Midwest Bus Sales’ service operations.
** Essential Functions
** 1. Customer Service & Business Development
* Build and develop a market for service work through the highest customer satisfaction.
* Establish and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
* Implement aggressive marketing plans to increase the service department business.
* Visit customer locations to write estimates and make sales calls.
* Handle customer complaints immediately and according to dealership guidelines.
2. Operations & Service Management
* Supervise the workload of service technicians.
* Maintain high-quality service repairs, minimizing comebacks.
* Conduct periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
* Monitor progress and completion of vehicles in the shop, ensuring proper schedules.
* Ensure proper safety equipment usage and maintain a safe working environment.
* Maintain all service tools and company vehicles in good condition.
* Keep shop area clean and organized.
* Monitor paper flow to ensure all documents are accounted for, closed timely, and prepare final billing.
3. Staff Management & Development
* Hire, train, motivate, and monitor performance of service department employees.
* Review technicians’ time clocks and efficiency reports; submit weekly reports.
* Provide necessary training to ensure compliance with regulations.
* Enforce company policies and procedures within the service department.
* Attend dealership staff meetings and maintain professional appearance and attitude.
4. Financial & Administrative Responsibilities
* Process and forward warranty claims to suppliers.
* Forecast department goals and objectives; strive to meet them.
* Prepare and analyze reports related to department performance.
5. Compliance & Safety
* Understand, stay current with, and comply with all applicable state, federal, and local regulations.
* Ensure safety procedures are always followed.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
