Position Summary

The Lead, Logistics Associate I ensures effective and efficient material flow, performing 60‑70% of all Logistics functions independently. This senior‑level role is intended for experienced individuals with 2‑3 years of Logistics experience and strong knowledge of SIG material flow. The associate works both independently and as part of a team with internal team members, leads, supervisors, and customers.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Accurately ship products to internal and external customers using Ship Console or Oracle EBS.
  • Ensure timely execution of shipping paperwork, organize records, verify items, and assist with packaging and labeling.
  • Prepare and verify outgoing shipments, including HAZMAT materials, and affix required labels.
  • Ensure compliance with shipping procedures and ISO standards for domestic and international shipments.
  • Accurately receive parts into inventory via Oracle EBS.
  • Identify incorrect inbound material and resolve issues with appropriate parties.
  • Send follow‑up emails to Buyers to clear Receiving Crashes and systematically receive material requiring more than three sequential Oracle transactions.
  • Pick work and sales orders, fulfill requests, put away materials, and ensure timely delivery to the proper location.
  • Identify and correct discrepancies in Oracle EBS and Apex.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by correctly identifying, labeling, and transacting materials and supplies.
  • Affix shipping labels, HAZMAT labels, and packing lists on cartons; record item number, lot number, weight, and package count with 100% accuracy.
  • For Ammo Division: record Net Explosive Weight (NEW) and related data with 100% accuracy.
  • Assemble cardboard containers and insert items using spacers, fillers, and protective cushioning; verify and keep organized records of outgoing shipments.
  • Visually inspect materials, products, and containers for damage.
  • Train and mentor new team members; assist current staff with safety protocols and operational standards.
  • Guide and support the Logistics team while ensuring alignment with safety and quality standards.
  • Assign and balance projects and tasks among the group.
  • Oversee the workflow and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Report project status and completion to higher management.
  • Provide input to Supervisor or Manager regarding performance reviews and group goals.
  • Support skill development, promote adherence to processes, and ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors and Leads to maintain consistent departmental performance.
  • Communicate effectively to supervision regarding problems; offer solutions and troubleshoot issues.
  • Lead problem‑solving teams within the group’s responsibilities.
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal customers.
  • Lead and volunteer for continuous improvement projects/tasks.
  • Participate in and sustain 5S Standards.
  • Follow all required safety and ISO procedures.
  • Maintain regular on‑site attendance and punctuality.
  • Work in other functional areas or facilities as needed.
  • Work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Education, Experience & Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; or related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination. Minimum 2+ years of Logistics experience.
