We are looking for a ceramic tile factory press operator who's main responsibilities are tosafely and efficiently operate the tile presses, which includes setting up the machines, monitoring production, and performing quality control checks on the finished tiles.
They are also responsible for routine maintenance, keeping the work area clean and organized, and accurately recording production data.
In order to qualify for this role, you must have prior experience working with a ceramic tile manufacturer.
Pay: $18-22/hr
Shift: 3.5days on/3.5days off. Shifts do not rotate. 6pm-6am.
Key responsibilities- Operates press in accordance with established procedures.
- Ensures acceptable levels of production are met and quality standards are consistently achieved.
- Regularly inspects product to ensure quality standards are consistently achieved.
- Will lift green tile whenever necessary.
- Switches dies and frames as needed for production orders/runs.
- Maintains work area in a neat, orderly, and safe condition.
- Makes modifications to press as needed to correct production and/or quality issues.
- Maintains a safe and clean, organized work area always.
- Performs die and frame transfers as needed based upon production orders.
- Alerts supervisor to any problems with production levels and/or quality standards.
- Maintains production and quality control logs as required by established procedures.
- Comply with safety regulations (OSHA and Company) and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Set up the press machines according to job specifications and product requirements.
- Load raw materials into the machines.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure they are running correctly and efficiently.
- Make necessary adjustments to the machine settings as needed.
- Perform regular quality checks on the finished tiles to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Inspect products for defects and ensure consistency.
- Perform quality checks on output and create samples for quality control.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on the machinery.
- Troubleshoot minor machine issues and report major problems to a supervisor.
- Keep the work area clean and organized at all times.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents.
- Follow standard operating procedures and adhere to quality management systems.
- Record production data and maintain logs related to safety and quality.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
- Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
- 1+ years of manufacturing experience, specifically at a ceramic tile manufacturer.
- Must be hightly motivated and able to work independently.
- Must be able to life and move objects up to 50 pounds consistently with heavier weights as necessary at times.
