Volunteers Those Affected Local Disasters Belmont Area

Overview

The American Red Cross, through its network of volunteers, donors and partners, seeks volunteers in your area to provide 24-hour emergency response to local disasters, particularly house fires, ensuring affected people have access to basic necessities such as food, shelter and clothing.

• Take required trainings to be equipped to support families/individuals displaced by local emergencies, including sheltering, basic needs and related services.
• Sign up for on-call shifts to be available to respond if needed.
• Show utmost compassion and respect for all clients and maintain client confidentiality.
• Help connect clients with Red Cross and other resources to meet basic needs (shelter, food, clothing, medication, etc.) and help make referrals when Red Cross Mental Health, Spiritual Care, and Health Services may be needed.
• Consider training to assist with larger-scale national disasters in a variety of basic and advanced leadership roles.

• Passionate about the Red Cross mission, with at least basic computer skills and effective communication.
• Flexible schedule and a willingness to respond to emergencies as needed.
