The Annual Giving Officer (AGO) spearheads all annual giving efforts for CEPS, partnering with the Senior Director of Annual Giving and the centralized Annual Giving team to execute a comprehensive program that reaches alumni, students, faculty, staff, families, and friends through omni-channel marketing and personal interactions.

Key responsibilities include developing strategy, managing direct marketing, securing underwriter funds, expanding donor portfolio, and supporting CEPS fundraising initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Fundraising Coordination (30%)
    • Partner with Senior Director to develop Annual Giving strategy aligned with Dean’s vision and overall university strategy.
    • Oversee implementation of strategies across CEPS, collaborating with Annual Giving, CEPS Development, and leadership.
    • Partner with central Annual Giving team on direct marketing efforts and communications (mail, phone, email, social media). Provide CEPS specific messaging, content, and strategies.
    • Serve as CEPS representative for The (603) Challenge by securing underwriter funds, coordinating outreach, driving goals, recruiting volunteers, and motivating faculty and staff.
    • Assist in determination of metrics and goals; monitor progress via reports.
    • Participate in events, programs, meetings, and initiatives that support UNH and CEPS Annual Giving program.
    • Consult with faculty and staff from various departments and programs to provide guidance on any Annual Giving efforts ensuring coordinated strategy and policy adherence.
    • Engage, educate, and train key volunteers and recruit new volunteers.
    • Work collaboratively across Development and Advancement teams to support UNH’s overall Annual Giving and other fundraising and engagement goals and strategic plans.
  • Front-Line Fundraising (70%)
    • Manage and actively expand a portfolio consisting of alumni, faculty, staff, friends, corporations and other constituents capable of making annual gifts up to $25,000.
    • Conduct 100-125 visits each fiscal year via video conference, phone, and/or in-person; travel across the state and occasionally U.S.
    • Solicit annual gifts for CEPS and UNH toward achieving revenue and donor participation goals.
    • Partner with colleagues across Development/Advancement to plan effective engagement, solicitation, and stewardship strategies that move prospects forward.
    • Qualify prospects for potential leadership, major, and planned giving capacity and provide background to appropriate colleagues to move them through the pipeline.
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of fundraising experience or equivalent (sales, business development, account/relationship management, marketing, public relations).
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Experience with Annual Giving strategies and donor qualification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship.
  • Understanding of philanthropy relevance.
  • Success in a metrics-driven environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication; build rapport and navigate sensitive situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including negotiation and communication across diverse audiences.
  • Sensitivity to diverse constituent characteristics; culturally competent support.
  • Understanding of responsibility to maintain sensitive information.
  • Sound judgment and teamwork with diverse university units.
  • Project management ability.
  • Travel on behalf of university including local, regional, domestic trips.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and advancement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of fundraising profession, theories, and standards.
  • Knowledge of philanthropy policies, practices, and systems.
  • Familiarity with a university setting and fundraising campaigns.
  • Proficiency in database technologies and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with portfolio and volunteer engagement.
