Cottage Hospital is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager to work alongside the Director of Inpatient and Emergency Services, providing clinical and operational support to our nursing staff. This is a key role where you’ll lead teams in delivering high-quality care, support continuous improvement, and foster a culture of excellence.

Overview

The Associate Nurse Manager works with the Director of Inpatient and Emergency Services to use clinical and leadership knowledge to provide clinical and operational support to inpatient and emergency room services departments. Uses leadership skills and clinical knowledge to support nursing staff in providing high-quality patient care. Under the direction of the Director of Inpatient and Emergency services the ANM supports just culture, continuous learning, and operational excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides day-to-day operational leadership for inpatient and emergency room nursing departments
    • Is responsible for inpatient nursing and emergency room schedules
    • Uses evidence-based practice such as AACN synergy model and staffing matrix to ensure appropriate staffing for inpatient and emergency room
    • Management of calls outs as needed
    • Must be able to pick up clinical assignments as needed due to callouts or holes
  • Works with house supervisor team for chart reviews and provides direct feedback to staff related to areas for improvement
  • Leads and participates in process improvement projects for department and organization
  • In conjunction with the Director, holds monthly staff meetings for departments
  • Patient rounding for feedback and immediate service recovery
  • Responsible for assisting with ongoing staff annual competency
  • Responsible for new charge nurse orientation and training as well as ongoing competency
  • Ability to balance care needs with budgetary constraints
  • Accountable for the efficient use of human and material resources
  • Responsible for time card approvals
Education

Required Associates or better in Nursing or related field.

Preferred Bachelors or better in Nursing.

ACLS

Basic Life Support

PALS

RN License
