We are seeking an experienced and licensed Spray Technician to join our nursery team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong chemical application experience who takes pride in safety, accuracy, and quality results.

Job Summary

The Spray Technician will be responsible for applying herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, and fertilizers to our container grown plants. This position requires scouting any plant health issues, utilizing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices, and ensuring precise, compliant chemical applications. The Spray Technician is responsible for accurate recordkeeping and complying with all safety and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, and fertilizers to containerized ornamentals
  • Diagnoses and address diseases, weed issues, insect infestations, and nutrient stress
  • Apply Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques and follow best management practices whenever appropriate.
  • Mix and load chemicals according to label and manufacturer specifications
  • Apply spray accurately, covering all areas at the right speed and calibration.
  • Keep detailed records and logs of chemical applications to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Keep spray vehicles and equipment safe, clean, and in good working order.
  • Verify compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
  • Comply with safety procedures, OSHA standards, and PPE rules.
  • Communicate daily and upcoming work needs with supervisors

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of landscape or nursery spraying experience
  • Private applicator license (preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Works well independently with little oversight
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
  • Self‑motivated, team‑oriented, and results driven
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, outdoor environment

Work Schedule

  • Full‑time position
  • Monday through Friday
  • Start and end times are determined according to operational requirements.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Working outdoors in different types of weather, including heat, humidity, cold, and rain
  • Regularly stands, walks, bends, and lifts objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Operation of hand tools, spraying apparatus, and mechanical equipment
