A process engineer on the cleaning team specializes in cleaning and sterilization of GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment in line with Novo Nordisk and FDA requirements. They are responsible for developing cleaning processes, validating those processes, and monitoring them during routine use. As specialists in the cleaning process, they support troubleshooting cleaning failures (deviations) and making changes to cleaning processes (change controls).
This role supports the cleaning of equipment throughout our whole facility and offers exposure to a wide range of equipment and systems used throughout the biopharmaceutical manufacturing process. Responsibilities include supporting cleaning and sterilization on‑floor, documenting process efficiency, and training cleaning staff to run according to cGMP requirements. This onsite position runs Monday‑Friday at our bioproduction facility in West Lebanon, NH, and requires on‑floor support in our Grade C and Grade D clean‑room production areas.
Clean‑room work may require wearing a hairnet, beard cover, frocks/coveralls, shoe covers, snood, face mask, sterile gloves, and following GMP processes at all times. Prohibited materials in clean‑room areas include, but are not limited to: food/drink/gum, jewelry, cosmetics, nail acrylics, perfume/cologne, and personal cell phones.
Reports to:
Associate Manager
- Assist with SOPs, JIs, Deviations, and other production documentation for the shopfloor including related problem‑solving.
- Participate in development and implementation of procedural or automation improvement changes.
- Drive and own minor improvement initiatives and support colleagues in production‑driven improvements to process and equipment.
- Develop, write, and support documentation needed for production; support trend reports and complex case ownership; present during audits/inspections.
- Plan and execute activities according to timelines and ensure timely delivery.
- Participate in on‑call rotations, including weekends and non‑business hours, to provide support.
- Perform all duties in a compliant and ethical manner, following all relevant healthcare laws, regulations, and industry codes.
- Incorporate the Novo Nordisk Way and 10 Essentials in all activities and interactions.

- Education and
Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline required. - Work Experience: Bachelor’s degree with one (1) year of related experience required.
- Biotechnology or pharmaceutical experience preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Follow routine work instructions for new and ongoing projects and assignments.
- Knowledge of automation and GMP requirements preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork in a high‑paced environment.
- Remain accessible during on‑call periods; respond within sixty (60) minutes.
The ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, and walk. The ability to push, pull, lift, finger, feel, and grasp. The ability to speak, listen, and understand verbal and written communication. Repetition including substantial movement of wrists, hands, and fingers. Lifting up to 33 lbs/15 kg occasionally, up to 30 lbs frequently, and up to 10 lbs constantly to move objects. Visual acuity for close activities such as reading, writing, analyzing, and visual inspection.
