Senior Research and Development Scientist

As a Senior Research and Development Scientist, you will be responsible for efficiently developing new products by connecting market needs with technical know-how. You would bring new technologies to market by staying abreast of current application processes and new developments. You will look for opportunities to improve our current paper grades by focusing on value to customer and reducing cost to deliver the same.

You will actively work with our manufacturing operations team and ensure efficient scale up and commercialization of new products. You will quickly establish yourself as a subject matter expert and provide technical guidance to the business.

Efficiently plan and conduct experimentation for modifying existing or developing new paper and packaging products. Utilize tools such as Stage Gate to develop and meet milestones in a timely manner. Provide the commercial team with technical guidance on product performance and participate in discussions to elicit customer needs and translate into actionable information. Provide direction to research team and peer group to efficiently prioritize laboratory work, design experimental methodology to efficiently arrive at results and conclusions.

Efficiently document progress and provide reports as appropriate to key stakeholders. Use and improve current project documentation system and provide guidance on prioritization of key initiatives with concurrence from stake holders. Use a safe work culture as a cornerstone of all laboratory work and be proactive in seeking ways to improve our safety culture.
