Job OverviewThe Manager Trainee will learn the full responsibilities of a Store Manager, focusing on delivering a Legendary Customer Experience, building and leading a high‑performing team, driving sales, managing inventory, and ensuring profitable operations. The role emphasizes customer service, operational excellence, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Recruit, hire, develop, evaluate, discipline, and retain team members.
- Deliver Legendary Customer Service through the GURA method:
- Greet the Customer.
- Uncover Customer’s Needs & Wants.
- Recommend Product Solutions.
- Ask to Add Value & Appreciate the Customer.
- Create a welcoming environment fostering belonging and inclusivity across all stakeholders.
- Schedule, organize, and plan daily activities for efficient store operations.
- Lead team members to ensure a Legendary shopping experience that differentiates the store.
- Communicate company processes, policies, and directives; evaluate effectiveness and coordinate with District/Regional Manager.
- Learn and promote a desirable work environment via promotions, recognition, and empowerment.
- Resolve conflicts and solve problems for team members and customers.
- Account for sales and profit management; achieve top and bottom line targets.
- Promote a safe and productive workplace.
- Manage daily merchandise flow, inventory controls, and periodic resets to company specifications.
- Implement and sustain merchandise presentation per company standards.
- Analyze competitive environment; collaborate with Operations and Merchandising teams.
- Complete paperwork—daily, weekly, monthly processing of invoices, schedules, orders, returns, POs, forecasting, payroll analysis and budget review.
- Manage inventory—price changes, inventory needs communication with buyers and distribution centers.
- Lead special sales events, support district initiatives, and participate in community involvement.
- Develop and manage team member growth; address concerns with HR as needed.
- Maintain budgeting, sales forecasting, and auditing responsibilities.
• Minimum 18 years of age, valid driver’s license.
• Retail experience preferred; farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge strongly preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• High school diploma required;
Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science or Business preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Valid driver’s license for company business.
- Proficient with system and POS Register processing.
- Strong reading, writing, and counting skills.
- Access all store areas—including selling floor, side lot, stock area, and register.
- Operate necessary equipment (dolly, hand‑truck, forklift, computer, cash register).
- Move merchandise 0‑50 lbs.; work varied hours, including nights, weekends, six days a week during peak seasons.
- Work a minimum of 52 hours per week; stand/walk up to four hours without a break.
- Available to travel to other store locations and company functions.
- Normal office working conditions.
- Standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, bending, reaching overhead.
- Driving a vehicle.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds.
